Founded in 2016 by Sugiarto Witaria, Elm Associates is an inter-disciplinary architectural & interior design practice based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The practice’s burgeoning global portfolio includes commissions focusing on architecture, interior design, and master planning. Currently working on projects in many countries, Elm Associates is composed of staff that combines cultural and professional expertise to provide meaningful design solutions.

Having accumulated experience ranging from residential and commercial projects, to high-end retail, institutional, and premium hospitality projects, Elm Associates is considered a problem solving specialist by bridging its design methodology with the client’s need by applying a holistic design approach incorporating overlapping design disciplines for a new paradigm in architecture.

Elm Associates has expanded the conventional boundaries of practice to include complementary disciplines to challenge the status quo of the built environment. A critical probing into the specificities of program, site, function, and history is essential to the creation of rigorous work. Based on research, Elm Associates anchors its ethos on the dynamic interaction of experience, detail, material, form, and light to create a human centric design rather than conforming to a formulaic style.
